Two weeks ago I posted a vibrant panorama of Kluane Lake from Yukon, Canada. After seeing that, a friend of mine requested that I do a panorama of University of Alaska Anchorage. I was more than happy to comply. The request came in just in time too, because the hubby and I were making a trip to Anchorage to do some shopping.
Our schedule was pretty packed considering we had 2 days to do 2 rounds of 6-hour drives, plus shop for all the things we needed, explore the town, and see the campus. Needless to say, we didn’t get to see a lot of sights, but we were able to make a quick visit the University of Alaska. We were limited on time so I was able to explore only a small part of campus. I wish I had time to schedule a campus tour (or even look more closely a these maps) so I could really understand the important pieces of campus and capture what would be meaningful, but hopefully this gives my friend and you a small idea of what it’s like at UAA.
I will show 3 panoramic shots as well as standard sized images. I normally aim for a clean and sharp image rather than doing too much during post-production. But this time, I felt like trying something different. Rather than presenting bright and happy images, I wanted to go for something moody and vintage looking – almost as if it came from film. After looking through them, let me know if you prefer my usual clean and bright images, or this moody set? Let me know what you think :) Now on with it (why do I always take forever to get to the pictures?)!
The first panorama is a 180 degree view of a few elements (from left to right): 1)A Water Fountain, 2) Allied Health Sciences Building, 3) The Edward & Cathryn Rasmuson Hall with a connected tunnel/sky bridge to 3) Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
I hope you enjoyed looking through some views of the UAA campus. Now I wonder what it looks like covered in snow! Have you been to UAA before? What should I look out for or what should I focus on photographing during my next visit? Leave a comment and let me know!
Also! If you have a photography/painting/drawing request, please let me know. Maybe I will feature your idea next week ;) Until then,
